The Ritz Theatre in Portland, Indiana first opened in 1989 in a building that had previously housed a furniture store and a dime store, among other things. It is managed with the ambition of showing new, first run movies at a price that would be affordable for a family. Whenever possible, family friendly movies are requested and shown.
